International Macroeconomics

Short Description:

International Macroeconomics explores the dynamic interactions between national economies in a global context. It provides a rigorous analytical framework for understanding open economy macroeconomic models, with particular focus on international capital flows, exchange rate dynamics, current account imbalances, international policy coordination including trade wars, and international financial crises. The course combines theoretical modeling with empirical analysis and prepares students for research in academic, policy, or financial institutions. Key topics include the intertemporal approach to the current account, sovereign debt, debt crises, and global macroeconomic spillovers.
